There could be many reasons why your dog is staring at you, but some of the more likely explanations include that he is trying to determine whether or not you pose a threat, he is trying to get your attention or he is trying to read your emotions.

He is essentially communicating with you and trying to establish a connection.

Tried to copy and remove the extra space in front of the @ to see if that helps for people not on lemmy.world (myself included).
