I have a digital subscription to a textbook, but it's super annoying to have to use the website to access the book. I'd like to scrape the ebook and dump the contents into a pdf. I have downloaded proprietary pdfs from websites before using downloader browser plugins and predictable urls, but this site is pretty locked down, with randomly generated url tokens and a combination of xml and image data. Has anyone managed to scrape a digital textbook like this? Any ideas where I should begin?

I've used the megathread to make a super basic proof-of-concept for my own streaming setup, and I'm not sure where to prioritize upgrading first and in what way. Any help is appreciated! Current setup: I got a subscription to a VPN, so I figure I'll use that until it runs out. I have that with my main PC (a laptop, I haven't been able to save for a proper gaming PC yet), a torrent client, and Plex. I tested it out with one TV show and one movie with the Plex app on my TCL Series 4 Roku TV and it seems to work! The video and audio quality work even better when I turn my VPN off and it can tell my server is "nearby", but whatever. Possible Improvements I've Seen People Talk About: I figure I should split off some of these services from my main laptop. I don't really want to keep it on 24/7, and I should save the room on it for games and other projects. I'll put things I've seen people talk about below, but not sure what order to do stuff to make the best Netflix replacement. - I can buy another smaller machine or two I can use as a server. Not sure whether to put the torrent parts on it, so it can torrent while I'm at work and stuff, make it host the Plex server, or both. And even then, I'm not sure whether to use an NAS, raspberry pi, NUC, Nvidia Shield TV Pro, buy or find an old cheap laptop, a ThinkClient I saw another post suggest, etc. I need something super small and quiet because I am splitting a small place right now. Should I get 2? One to torrent things while I'm gone and one to host Plex, or can I put them on the same machine? - Or should I start improving other parts of the torrenting and streaming experience? I've seen people mention Sonarr, Radarr, and other applications that I haven't experimented with yet. - Or should I just port all of this into a seedbox hosted by someone else even though I have the VPN subscription for awhile longer? It would clear up some room but I'd hate to be tied to a subscription. - I know I'll also need to buy more storage soon to make it a viable library, too. What do you all think should prioritize next?

A malicious law enformement officer or a criminal can exploit copyright laws to prevent criminal activities to be posted on mainstream platforms. Read the article for a real life example. No matter your stance on copyright laws, I think we can all agree there needs to be an exemption to copyright laws where if a video or audio recording contains copyrighted material but also contains unrelated content (like police violence or other criminal activity), then that should be exempt from copyright laws. Beside, who wants to listen to music that also has a cop screeching in the background, therefore, this wouldn't affect music subscriptions services in any way. Even with such law, I don't have hopes of youtube changing their policies. I'm honestly sad for the future.

I know next to nothing about widevine decryption so forgive my ignorance - I was wondering if I download protected files now and get a widevine key later from another device, would I be able to decrypt the file with that key? or must the decryption be done with the same key/device that was used to download the file?

I haven't used IPT in about 4 months and went to log back into it today only to find my account has been deactivated. I went onto the IRC and was told that inactive accounts can't be recovered, which is annoying as the account was years old with a good ratio. However, onwards an upwards. It's showing as empty under TV Shows. I'm using my standard *arr setup so the naming is standard. It's working fine for all other shows. The only thing I can think of is that the seasons have a unique name, like it contains Latin America?

So I got the dreaded over storage limit email and need a replacement storage option. Preferably cloud based as I have an abysmal 20mbps upload from Xfinity. Or I was thinking of going the Plex debrid route. Is it possible to host that on a seed box and run it through Plex to maintain one ip address? That way I can get around my upload limitations. It's a bit incomplete from the dataset perspective, seems to be missing the "latest" releases (the 2022 Fantastics Beasts for example), and is limited to very particular "universes". Is there an *arr that does this? Automatically grab the items you have and populate playlists like "Stargate - Chronological", "Stargate - Airdate", etc... And as items are added to your library that were missing in the "universe" it fills in the playlists. Playlistarr?

Hi, In short: will I run the risk of receiving an angry Hetzner e-mail telling me to stop downloading torrents when I configer my local deluge client to connect through a local[ gluetun VPN](https://github.com/qdm12/gluetun) client to a selfhosted wireguard vpn on a hetzner server? I have limited knowledge of VPNs but as far as I understand it the connection provided through gluetun from client to server (vpn) is safe, encrypted, private (somewhat) But connections from the (vpn) server to the public tracker is not, right? Or does the vpn tunnel extend to the destination? Context: I am running a deluge torrent client to download and seed torrents coming from radarr and sonarr its all running containerized through docker on my local machine. The Deluge client is using a VPN connection (via Windscribe) through a gluetun vpn client. `https://github.com/qdm12/gluetun. I am not very happy with the speeds of Windscribe and I have small Hetzner server running with a wireguard vpn container I got working, that I hope should provide a faster download/upload speed. Hetzner is pretty strict when it comes to downloading torrents from public trackers. A couple of years ago I basically had my plex server and a deluge client running on one of their servers. At first I used only private trackers but some content was not available so I added some torrents from public trackers. A couple of days after I got an angry e-mail from viacom through hetzner telling to quit it. Does anyone self host their VPN and on what? And do you use it for downloading?

I found out today that I can change my dns to acces 1337.to again. My ISP was blocking it. However, it works on chrome, but not on firefox. Why doesn't it work on firefox?
