I dunno if I (41) count as a kid, but I got diagnosed last year and put on atomoxetine. It’s got the jumping-from-thought-to-thought under control so I can concentrate on something if I get started, and I guess making phone calls is a bit easier now. But I’m still very much ADHD, just under control a bit.

My partner’s on atomoxetine with a similar experience. It doesn’t magically make everything better the same way that stimulants seem to, but it’s a fairly big improvement without needing to worry about the effects waning.

Yeah, it would be nice if I could get some stimulants too to help when I really need to get something done, but I can kind of work around it with large doses of caffeine. (I live in Japan where even most doctors can’t prescribe amphetamines)
