i feel like i’m in the minority here but i much prefer office chairs that don’t have a reclining back. i need something i can press my whole back into for proper support and a reclining back is often a point of failure.

Try the recline locking lever under the seat.
usually this works for a while but eventually it’ll end up wobbling at least a little whenever i put weight on it.
Try getting a quality chair like Steelcase or Herman Miller.
