I feel like a lot of people bitching about the circlejerking on Lemmy are actually just jealous of how much fun we are having and/or don’t have a great sense of humor. I haven’t laughed this frequently on the internet probably ever.
I’m a clever person who is enjoying the opportunity to participate in some erudite banter with like-minded individuals. Sue me.
I can’t even upvote with it. It’s been acting so wonky. I tried logging out of a couple of my apps (Memmy, Mlem, Liftoff, and Thunder) and logging back in, but no dice :(
I’m upvoting and commenting with my lemmy.world account. I had the same issue off and on for the past few days but since I’ve logged out and back in today it has worked fine.
yep, totally :)
i dunno what’s so good about it but I feel infinitely better browsing lemmy than the R platform. really does remind me of that 2007 era of internet times where it was just fun and there weren’t these massive social media platforms all over the internet.
Fediverse is reminding me of all of those good times and thank you to everyone that’s here for making this happen. I’ve not seen a platform like this actually get the userbase it needs
I’ve been enjoying looking through all the different instances people are commenting from, seeing if there’s any new communities I might be interested in. It’s a bit like a treasure hunt. My feed has definitely been getting pretty active now that I’ve subscribed to a few different instances.
It’s a little addicting, right? Sometimes I’ll be sitting at my PC and realize I’ve just been hunting for new communities the whole time instead of browsing the ones I already sub to.
The link works. I came across that one earlier, and there’s definitely some cool stuff there.
Personally I’m more interested in photography than AI art (or even human art I guess). Still waiting for something to fill the void left by /r/EarthPorn
Word, maybe you could start by joining a photography community and waiting for that to gather enough steam to branch out into something more specialized.
Yeah, back when almost all content online was just people having fun on barebones websites, in any random forum or corner of the web they could. Nobody was trying to become an influencer, churn out content for profit, or tiresomely push politics. The internet wasn’t real life.
You are not logged in. However you can subscribe from another Fediverse account, for example Lemmy or Mastodon. To do this, paste the following into the search field of your instance: [email protected]
Rules:
Be civil and nice.
Try not to excessively repost, as a rule of thumb, wait at least 2 months to do it if you have to.
Heel yea
For real
You don’t drive bad for a quadruped. But you got to check your mirrors, side of the eye!
just waiting to see how things go. Real potential here
Dude, I am here for it. It’s great.
It’s a blast. Like, the content ain’t much, but the quality makes it surpass my former web experiences by far
It reminds me of early Reddit, in the best of ways
Pure 2000’s web experience. Next someone shares high quality indy flash games and Cuboy get’s a new installment…
Well, Phil, that’s one I happen to agree with.
Phil? Like the groundhog?
I peg you as a glass is half empty kinda guy, am I right?
^ 3:10 on that clip
all my favorite movies have bowling
Left Reddit’s circlejerk just for another circlejerk about how your social media of choice is better
I mean, it is, jankey and weird but feels like the early Internet
The stupid comments are starting to get to me lol
I’m saying I like it. Some people are saying they don’t like it. Who is jacking off who? Nice double post btw
This circle jerk is better. That’s how.

Very early Reddit was full of Fark refugees complaining about Fark. It works itself out 😆
I was a farker
Yeah this is slashdot to Reddit hopefully
Maybe it’s because I remember the old internet, but I have a lot of patience for jankiness if I enjoy something.
Even if I can’t comment with my lemmy.world account, I’m just happy to be here
Why can’t you comment with your Lemmy.world account?

I had the same issues and tried the same things. I updated memmy today (the only one I’m really using). Logged back in and It’s working again so far.
lemm.ee ftw

It’s fun watching it all happen
It’s fun making it happen (◕‿◕)

Might wanna check out [email protected], it’s one of the finest offerings from our humble instance.
Lmk if that link works, I’m still figuring out how to link things appropriately.

Sub.rehab, lemmyverse.net, and browse.feddit.de are all very helpful tools for finding new communities.

Yep. I miss those times. At least we can relive some of it here.

Dark Souls veteran here. Remember: Those aren’t bugs, those are features.
Yesss I’m having a nice time.
of course this is fun
Same tbh. Even if the community remains at ~130k active users, that’s enough to make the community entertaining, useful, wholesome, etc.
Don’t drive angry. Don’t drive angry.
I like crazy taxi
