Usually identifier name is kept short and lowercase, while display name (title text) can be slightly longer and more descriptive. See [email protected] for example.

The real name should be as easy to remember and type as possible. Sometimes I don’t remember if a name had an underscore between the words or how it was exactly worded, which is bad. [email protected] has a crazy long display name that for some reason contains a whole description, but the actual name is easy to remember.

The id is blender_3D_animation, but the display name is short B3DA. Isn’t that a bit backwards?

Those two are great, but there’s a lot more out there!

I’ll sure accept help, if you’re interested

Community for technical art - shaders, modeling, rigging, etc. Links: - [email protected] - [/c/[email protected]](/c/[email protected]) - https://suppo.fi/c/technicallyart - https://p.suppo.fi/c/[email protected] I know I created two new communities almost in a row, but this is a cool topic.

I know that problem too well, but working with old hardware or software is a very different thing to replicating the retro look.

What I might do to open it up, is to replace the mentioned console generations with a more generic “old”. I remember someone did real-time raytracing on the PS3 CPU, which was pretty cool.

I just started thinking about demakes and other such things while going over my YT subscriptions for content.

But while this is not strictly limited to consoles and that era, I’m gonna say no; this is mostly about systems, and not the style.

I almost created the community at [email protected], but didn’t like the name for this purpose. I decided to maybe open it for shaders and graphics, from a gamedev-ish perspective. I think retro-lowpoly-graphics are cool and it would have a bunch of that.

Bring your PlayStations and Dreamcasts. This community is about generic technical and graphics stuff, roughly focusing on old (3D) game consoles. Links: - [email protected] - [/c/[email protected]](/c/[email protected]) - https://suppo.fi/c/polygongraphics - https://p.suppo.fi/c/[email protected]

If it’s all of these links and just on Memmy, it’s probably an issue with the app. I use Voyager and they work fine. You could ask about that at [email protected] or file an issue at their GitHub if someone hasn’t already.

I think both of those are still used extensively.

The other results had iFunny and 9GAG watermarks on them and/or were even more deepfried with compression.

But somehow, the JPEG artifacts give this one a nice cozy feel. Seeing this ancient meme again was like meeting an old friend.

I used to practice this art actively. Links: - [/c/[email protected]](/c/[email protected]) - [email protected]

I was going to make a post about my toothbrush to this community, but apparently there isn't one anywhere. I could just find two dead ones at lemmy.ml with 1 and 3 subscribers. Given how tech and privacy oriented lemmy userbase is, it's absence was a bit surprising. Links: - [/c/[email protected]](/c/[email protected]) - [email protected] Edit: Fixed links, thanks. Added pic.
