Sorry, I am really new to the idea of the fediverse. So, it is about standartisation for social media protocols so I can interact with users on another side that uses the same standard. Does this mean if I post something on lemmy I can find it on Mastodon, or is it only certain features? I guess I dont understand how this applies to the every day use of there application

woah this is crazy

but it feels weird how many accounts i would still need, i just created one on mastodon.social but your post seems to be on mastodon.green which asked me to create a new account. this seems like its kind of against the idea of ActivityPub

@pyzn mastodon.green or .social are just different servers inside Mastodon, there’s no need to have an account in each, accounts from both servers can communitcate between them without any problem. And even reply to your comment on Lemmy. That only happens when you open the original link of the comment and see it on the original server, but there’s not need to do that…

over, from Mastodon.
