Hey! just recently went to my psycologist, and i found alot of new things with me! ofc i had some things in background why it was so hard in school and social life and other things. but i found out that i was diagnosed with auditory memeory issue when i was 4 (and my parents never said anything to me when i was older). but that diagnose can also be a misdiagnose off add, which the test was not for. so ye, found out alot of my history and my current problems last couple of months, and got diagnosed with add well got kicked out of uni last year, had no motivation at all, and it was pain reading. so after some months, i went to psycologist about depression and fucos issue, and ye, pretty sure i have ADD with some languge diffuclitys, but not auditory memeoryproblem. wanted to killmyself so many times, and motivation for anything was just ass. and i guess it will take some time to fix it. do you have any tips what helped you, and how you find passion in school or job? :) thank you!

Make the best use of your medicated time to build routines for consistency, which in my case helped even after the meds wore off (eventually). Putting keys and wallet in the same space actually stuck after taking meds!

Other than that, do consider that the meds won’t work all day so plan around them. Work and home upkeep while they are working is great, downtime for things like games or winding down after they wear off. It won’t cause motivation to do things you want to do while it is working, but it sure helps with barriers!

This is spot on. Also accept that you will not be immediately successful at either devising new habits and behaviors, nor at executing them. Stick with it. The bonus of the meds is that you CAN actually think of, and build up, the good habits now; but it takes practice. Don’t beat yourself up if you backslide either. Just keep at it.

I was in the same boat, my friend. I know exactly how you feel. If it helps, I am now killing it at life after a year and a half on meds. I wasted the first 6 months smoking weed though, which for me negates almost all the good effects of the adderall.

In my experience it still improved things after the meds wore off because I spent less time kicking myself for screwing up earlier in the day! So it had positive impacts outside of work and school because I could enjoy the more relaxed stuff.

I do use games to help unwind in the evenings, but as long as I do it in moderation it is more like mental meditation/exercise which helps with sleeping and overall mental health. I play games from about 8-10 p.m. nowadays, because it is after family things have settled down and about an hour before bedtime.
