so I have some friends who are interested in calckey, they came from bsky and were upset by the anti blackness on that site. I was wondering if anyone knew of a decent black owned instance, or if not an instance that is has many black moderators.
I’m not sure about if the owners are black or the mods are black but I’m pretty sure that https://blahaj.zone/ is a welcoming place for queer folks so I’m pretty sure they’d be welcoming to other marginalized groups as well.
But as the other commenter said, worst case scenario you and you buds spin up an instance for yourselves and federate it.
No disrespect to the blahaj admins at all (I’m on lemmy.blahaj.zone rigth now!) but safe spaces for queer folks aren’t automatically safe spaces for non-white folks and there’s a lot of historical pain and drama about that on the fediverse

No worries, there’s a lot of historical pain and drama about that in a lot more places than the fediverse.
I just kind of look at it this way, new bridges only stop being built when people stop trying to build new ones.
