Users need an option to block instances - Lemmy

browsing through All has so much pro-fascist posts coming from lemmygrad that it drowns out all the other instances. I’m surprised they’re even federated by default but we should have an option to block instances from All if lemmy is deadset on federating with them just because they are fascists with a red and yellow flag… (before the Tankies start posting about how they aren’t pro-fascism “Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the good of the nation and race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy” which all describe the Z movement in Russia they gleefully support in multiple posts)

But much more civil since they retreated back to lemmygrad after being given a ban for 5 days but not their adoraphobia alt

Use Connect for Android. I have blocked lemmygrad and I can block whatever other instances I want. It’s improved my Lemmy experience 10000% since I no longer have to look at edgy teen tankie memes.

Well, I just sub to the communities I care about and never look at all, only subscribed. So I never see these fabled tankie or fascist memes, I only see the stuff I care about.

It’s also great in that I tend to not waste a ton of time here, I just read the new content and be done. If I want more, I go search for new communities to follow and join a bunch, then unsubscribe from the communities that end up having crap content.

Yes, I assumed it was a lemmy option, not a connect feature.

If it is to be implemented, there should be an option to block all communities, or commenters or both.

I’ve blocked the nsfw instances, to clean up my feed, but it means some user comments get suppressed too, as they have their account there.

Weird because your username sounds kind of NSFW

Rules

  1. Any drama must be posted as an observer, you cannot post drama that you are involved with.
  2. When posting screenshots of drama, you must obscure the identity of all the participants.
  3. The poster must have a credible post and comment history before submitting a piece of history. This is to avoid sock-puppetry and witch hunts.

The usual instance-wide rules also apply.

Chronicle the life and tale of the fediverse (+ matrix)

Largely a sublemmy about capturing drama, from fediverse spanning drama to just lemmy drama.

Includes lore like how a instance got it’s name, how an instance got defederated, how an admin got doxxed, fedihistory etc

(New) This sub’s intentions is to an archive/newspaper, as in preferably don’t get into fights with each other or the ppl featured in the drama
