Feel free to join us on [email protected] , community building can be quite lonely

As for lemm.ee, I decided against getting in contact with the admins and trying to work something out (I’m not unfamiliar with this, as I had to contact one of the administrators of Lemmy.World to work out the Sonic community since it had been previously deleted) predominantly because I felt the 500 kB image upload limit could be detrimental to those wanting to post fan art. That is, I thought it’d give users a better experience all while being easier to create on my home instance, making it a no-brainer to me.
On this point, I suggest using catbox.moe or another image hosting service. Lemmy is still small, but if we keep growing and storing the pictures on the instances themselves, that might become an issue for admins
Hello Jakylla,
Merci pour ton commentaire, mais pas sûr que ça fit pour ce post-ci (dédié à “learning et discovering”)
Par contre il y a bien

Paradox of choice is an issue, but (and I know you are aware) centralization of communities on LW is an issue too.
It’s even more frustrating when you see that LW mods are spread too thin and cannot moderate every community hosted on their instance, but still refuse to close them down when they realize there are no active mods: https://lemm.ee/post/33851691
What’s the right way to advertise a community?
Posting here, and then in the weekly thread in the coming weeks seems reasonable. We can also post to [email protected], but maybe you could change the displayed name of the community to “Shows and Media discussions”, so that people understand that movies will stay on [email protected] ?
To be honest, this one is just going to allow people who want to avoid Lemmy.world to post about shows and television. There is [email protected], but there have been issues with the single mod power tripping
Thank you for creating the community!
I guess in my case I’ll probably mostly post about television on there, as [email protected] and [email protected] are already quite established, but it’s nice to finally have an alternative to [email protected]
To @[email protected], there is indeed a lot of communities, but it comes from

Taking one alt example to reply.
You are correct, but interestingly enough I noted that most of the instance admins would reach out to me when I create my alt to check if I am actually me.
So it is indeed possible, but there are some light checks.
Also with the amount of posts and comments I made on the feddit.org alt, I would have noticed it early.
I just added a note about the feddit.org alt in my bio to make this more clear.
