$2700??

Cant you just find a psychologist and schedule an appointment for a lot less than $2700? Like $250?

Oh, shit, you’re right - exactly what I do.

It’s why OneNote has been a blessing/curse for me.

Damn, must be nice to have enough working memory to do this! 😁

Neat idea, though, I’m sure many people can use this.

I’d say the line is from knowing the person. It’s one thing if someone isn’t listening, it’s another if they get distracted.

Nerotypicals do it too, just not as much.

When it happens to me, I’m honest and open about it “I’m really Slsorry, I just spaced out for a minute, would you mind repeating that?”

Sometimes I’ll ask them to repeat because I’m “not getting it”, which isn’t a lie.

Listen boss, having me look at a camera is the surest way for me to NOT pay attention.

Now, if I work on something while you NTs ear rape me with your voice vomit, I’ll actually hear the important bits.

My primary care doctor picked up on it in my late 20’s. It was impressive - I think he suspected, so asked 3 questions/statements about my behaviour as a kid and teenager, things that nobody, not my parents, siblings or friends knew. They were formed as “you did X, Y, Z, as a teen, didn’t you?”.

They were questions regarding self control and specific drug use. In particular, he said “you did come coke as a teen, and you felt it calmed you down”. Mind. Blown.

First, talk to your doctor.

That’s a short-acting medication. I forget the half-life, but I know it’s not very long.

I’m surprised your doc prescribed a single dose per day - there’s practically no way for it to last that long (without side effects or having a high spike and then low later - just what you’re experiencing). A short/fast acting med is typically split into 2 doses to even it out during the day.

Perhaps a different med would be more useful, something slower-acting.

But, again, talk to your doc. They’ll know what way to go.
