okay, fair.

for some reason I’ve just considered the instance ruleset. Posts I stumbled upon about this incident were pointing World’s rule, not the community’s so I haven’t checked that, my bad.

Thanks for the clarification!

I don’t want to defend anyone here, I just want to make things clear in my head;

the rule is the following:

Regarding Spam: We are not your free advertising platform. If you are here only to sell your products or services, you will be removed. Occasional posts of commercial links are OK, but when the vast majority of a user’s posts are commercial in nature, we regard the account as a Spam account.

To me, it didn’t look like the only intention of OP’s user would be advertising. How is this not fit into “occasional posts of commerical links”?

I think I do, but only because, after using reddit, I know, or at least I have enough knowledge how these kind of forums work and can “work off” my initial excitement productively.

shit, I remember when first saw reddit, and the default frontpage, I had absolutely zero idea what’s going on. it was legit scary… had a bit of lerning curve, so most of the time I was just (trying to) lurk around.

I actually have a collegaue who uses the numeric keys as arrows and shit, he uses the NumLock pretty regularly.

He is the only one I actually know who does that, tho.

According to urbandictionary, if someone is shit eating, it means “To be exceptionally smug, full of oneself.”

I guess, it’s a type of grin that makes someone assume the person is like that.

My first guess would be filtering out illegal content is something that the operator/admins of the given instance have to take care according to the law of the country the server is hosted in.
