Just subscribed, good luck!

I really like Kbin, but I noticed that they have a harder time getting traction than on Lemmy. Don’t know why though, on paper there is no reason.

It seems to me that the other gaming communities have a lot of news content rather than discussions.

A bit like the difference between [email protected] (news focused) and [email protected] (discussion focused)

Seems nice!

Would you like to share links in the sidebar with [email protected] ?

I’m open to discussion, let’s see what their reaction is

Discussing a more structured movies and tv community on [email protected]
Hello everyone, I opened a thread on [[email protected]](https://lemm.ee/c/movies) following some diverging visions on how to manage this kind of communities with the mod of [[email protected]](https://lemm.ee/c/moviesandtv). To quote the post > I am now suggesting to retake this community or create another one that would be more structured, especially > - weekly “what have you been watching lately” thread > - dedicated threads for shows and TV. Discoverability of those threads would be eased by having a research bar in the sidebar. > What do you people think? Should we use this community, or create another one? If the latter, what would be the name? /c/moviestvreviews? /c/moviestvdiscussions? Feel free to share your suggestions And for people curious about what happened: ::: spoiler spoiler - the modlog: https://lemm.ee/modlog/408863 The removed posts - https://lemm.ee/pictrs/image/dc0a56ca-bcca-466b-b351-8815c8ab34c9.png - https://discuss.tchncs.de/pictrs/image/c1c8fa89-8cad-4914-aec0-c2c30ab70405.jpeg The removed comment: > Hello, As you banned my other account, I am now commenting with this one. I'm not going to comment on this that much, the modlog is public, people interested can have a look at make their own opinions. For history, the two removed posts: (screenshots) I guess we can just conclude that we disagree on how to manage this kind of communities, which is mostly fine, that's what Lemmy is about after all: freedom. I'll probably contact the people interested in review threads (and there seems to be a few, based on the removed threads and the 200 upvotes on the other post) and see it we can offer an alternative for people looking for a more structured community. Good luck :::

[email protected] for well, men over 30
[[email protected]](https://lemm.ee/c/askmenover30) Giving this one a try as I know it was a popular one on Reddit
fedilink

Yes, I’m trying to promote that instance a bit, the admins put a lot of work into it

[email protected], for people who like to learn languages
[[email protected]](https://sopuli.xyz/c/languagelearning) That's mostly it.

Thanks! Interesting, fedia.io was able to work with the other links, but I guess it’s because it’s mbin rather than kbin

[[email protected]](https://lemmy.world/c/lego). As yesterday, I'll struggle to create the Kbin link ha ha. /c/[email protected] ? /m/[email protected] ?

Reviving [email protected]
[[email protected]](https://literature.cafe/c/harrypotter) As winter calls for magic and castles, I'm trying to revive this community. For Kbin: [[email protected]](https://literature.cafe/m/harrypotter) Edit: I can't get the Kbin link to work, if someone can help me that would be great!

Well, I was a big fan of lemmy.film, posted a lot to the communities there, but unfortunately it has been down for a few weeks now.

We created [email protected] as a replacement to [email protected].

Since then, I try to stick with established instances.

It does. I have experienced it myself. The Mods have themselves stated that there is no freedom of speech in lemmy.world.

I guess as always, users need to assess how the moderation of communities fit wit their own views, and change communities/instances if needed.

I try to resurrect [email protected] about the show “The Office” should I move it elsewhere?

It’s a pretty laid-back show, and there were already 400 people in that community, so it made more sense to keep using it rather than create another one from scratch.

Hello,

Isn’t [email protected] the generic one for all models? Just asking, not so familiar with it

No ideas either. I remember you were quite active in the previous community, feel free to comment in the new one so I can appoint as a mod if you are interested

Reviving [email protected] following lemmy.film shutdown
**This instance (`lemmy.film`) and its communities have died! (sadly!)** * Please go to [email protected]. We're rebuilding there! * Spread the word! Please post this information to any/all `lemmy.film` communities your instance has subscribed to! * Please post this to any other instances you have alternative accounts on create as much reach as possible! * Moderators wanted too!

There’s always a risk, but if that happens I guess we’ll have bigger fish to fry than the comics community

On the other hand, it currently already has 4 thousands subs, definitely easier to revive it than starting another one from scratch

Communick.news seems to be at 99,79%, is it that bad?

https://lestat.org/

On that website, lemmy.ml is 99,93

IIRC, the lemmy.ml admins paid for the domain name. I saw a comment from them a while back

99,7% for the last 7 days seems pretty stable: https://lemmy-status.org/endpoints/_lemmy-ml

Also, [email protected] and [email protected] are some of the biggest communities on Lemmy, people don’t seem to complain too much

Reviving [email protected]
For all comics fan, be it Marvel, DC or Black Horse, feel free to post your favourite pages on [[email protected]](https://lemmy.ml/c/comics) Also, the community is currently unmoderated, I created a post to ask for moderators

Glad to hear, have a good day and good luck with your communities!

[email protected] for male fashion
[[email protected]](https://lemmy.world/c/malefashionadvice) Kudos to [@[email protected]](https://kbin.social/u/danhakimi) for posting there regularly

Trying to revive [email protected]
Basically, title. Another topic that is not really discussed around here, and that has a good potential for growth. [[email protected]](https://lemmy.ml/c/personalfinance) I just started a thread about eating out, let's see how it goes
fedilink

Regular posters, which communities are you currently focusing on?
Hello everyone, Basically the title. In my case, I'm trying to address the regularly brought up issue about Lemmy/Kbin only being about memes, tech and news. Hence, I'm trying to post regularly on - [[email protected]](https://lemmy.film/c/moviesandtv) - [[email protected]](https://lemmy.world/c/casualconversation) - [[email protected]](https://lemmy.ml/c/wholesomememes) As we all know, growing a community is hard, but I hope that over time they will become more populated.
fedilink

[email protected] has movie discussion threads!
Basically, title Link: [[email protected]](https://lemmy.film/c/moviesandtv) These were quite popular on Reddit, and usually do not make it to All, so I thought about promoting them a bit

Reviving [email protected]
Hello everyone, Casual conversations always seems to interest people on forums, so I'm trying to revive the [[email protected]](https://lemmy.world/c/casualconversation) . I'm basically creating a post every day to open the floor for anyone to discuss any topic. We try to keep it low-key and nice. Feel free to join!
