Before i even knew i had it, caffeine. One cup of coffee and maybe a soda per day. No more or otherwise it’d make me tired. Its no replacement for meds but other things helped too like keeping notes, getting enough sleep, excerising, and one of the things i still do today, taking the frustration out of daily tasks.

If something bugs you a lot or stops you from being productive, find a way to make it easier or at least less annoying. Problem solve. Its one of my biggest drivers for dopamine hits and making your life easier by just getting rid of little annoyances makes it easier to function overall.

All that said, like others mentioned, I didn’t function well before meds. Honestly i feel like i got off easy but its not really helpful to compare your situation to others.

I hope anything from this post helps you out man.

I work at a small company where I wear a lot of hats.

I audit chats, supervise a team of agents, answer billing and sales tickets as well as the phone for sales.

When theres downtime i also work on spreadsheets which we use to track agent performance and make tools to help us work. Thats probably the msot fun part. Its a good job.

Pay is way under what we should be getting but i like the company and they treat me well. Plus wfh so cant complain too much.

Oh boy the ADHD is strong with this one.

Yea before meds, hyper focus usually came in small bursts but there was a whole 2 weeks and i do literally mean 2 weeks where i spent every waking moment trying to make a jellyfin server work. I worked night shift security at the time so it was wake up, work on the servwr before work, go to work, look up docs and videos, go home, sleep, rinse, repeat for two weeks straight.

I was new to Linux (and still am) so it took me so fucking long and i ended up doing it on windows in the end anyways. But yea after doing almost nothing else for two weeks, i was a liiiiittle burnt out.

My advice if you wanna play with tech but dont wanna spend the scratch, ask friends or family if they have old laptops or pcs they dont want and use those. Ive gotten 5 laptops this way.

Or ebay and other marketplace sites. Old hardware is still fun.

Thanks for helping give the fediverse content. I appreciate you and OP.

Woah thats so cool. I didn’t know this was a thing at all! Thanks for sharing. :)

Me personally, I like Jellyfin. Im not using it daily atm. But when i was, i used it purely for streaming music and it was great for that.

LTT did a video on both a while back and its kind of a toss up imo. Depends on what you care about. Id recommend that video.

I was right there with you and did a vpn tunnel with cloudflare. Not a perfect solution but it works well for my jellyfin server.
