Getting the UN to divide a country in two and using guns to evict people from their homes is a no-no.

Yeah, if the zionists wanted to live in Jerusalem they should have just immigrated, not brought an army.

The Jews had already moved to Palestine by then and been living there for thousands of years.

I’m not really up to date on my biblical history so I’m not sure what happened when the Jews travelled to Palestine. I think they made a golden calf and Moses smashed some tablets, but I’m not sure what happened for the next thousand years.

Jews have lived in Palestine for thousands of years. You can’t move back to somewhere you never left.

The violence done by the UN was caused by Hitler working with zionist groups to send Jews to Palestine. I explained that too.

The UN voting to split a country in two and make people leave their homes? I already explained that. This is getting boring.

Well Hitler wanted there to be a Jewish state in the middle east so he sent lots of Jews to Palestine.

He’d be really happy that Israel is still going thanks to his hard work.

I think there was, but the kind of people who vote to partition a sovereign nation usually don’t. They usually just do whatever they want and shoot whoever disagrees.

No, the war happened thousands of years later when the UN voted to partition Palestine.

Palestine didn’t have a centralised government yet, just a bunch of nomadic tribes. Citizenship as a concept didn’t exist yet. It was actually the Jewish refugees moving into Palestine who invented the idea.

Nuh-uh. I haven’t compared the nakba to the holocaust, only you have. Comparing means finding the difference between two things. Like when I compare apples at the supermarket to see which is fresher. You’ve compared them.

They’re both genocides. Denying that the nakba is a genocide is antisemitic. Calling it a genocide isn’t.

Maybe you wouldn’t think protesting against genocide is antisemitic, if you didn’t think Judaism is a genocidal religion. You should try thinking of it that way and see what happens.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semitic_people

Semitic people or Semites is a term for an ethnic, cultural or racial group[2][3][4][5] associated with people of the Middle East, including Arabs, Jews, Akkadians, and Phoenicians.

Semite means middle eastern person. You shouldn’t deny the genocide being done against semites, it’s antisemitic.

Germany has laws against minimising the atrocities of the holocaust. The feddit.org admins have a personal opinion that likening the nakba to the holocaust minimises the holocaust, which would make it illegal.

I feel badly about it. Zionists are fascists, and the Nakba is like the Holocaust. People should be able to say that. They should also be able to say Hamas is not conducting a genocide (because they don’t have enough guns to do what they want). I don’t support terrorism but I do think we should be conducting targeted strikes against IDF military assets without involving civilians, and I think the terrorism advocacy is mostly coming from Zionists.

feddit.org defederated quokk.au for calling their mods zionists
https://feddit.org/post/12851368 https://feddit.org/post/12529640 > due to the previously communicated defamation campaign by quokk.au, which was later followed by defederation by them after we requested them to remove their censure, we have now defederated from quokk.au. ---- > One of the triggers for the current debate is [this post](https://feddit.org/post/12297786), which followed the removal of a comment comparing National Socialism with the current situation in Israel, which can be considered a trivialization of National Socialism. Such statements can, among other things, lead to imprisonment. Among other things, the post claimed that the removal had a Zionist motive, an accusation that should always be supported by appropriate evidence and prior to which it should be ruled out that there are alternative explanations. > We will not be removing every comment that goes even remotely in this direction, but we reserve the right to permanently ban users from feddit.org who make unfounded accusations, such as labeling our instance, admins, moderators, or other users as Nazis or Zionists, without substantial supporting arguments. This is especially the case when this is recurring behavior and not an isolated incident. > If this censure by quokk.au is not withdrawn in a timely manner, we will defederate quokk.au from our side for these unsubstantiated and untrue accusations.

feddit.org defederated quokk.au for calling their mods zionists

As my eyes scanned one by one down the length of the post, they grew wider, and soon my mouth joined them in gaping open. It was true! It had to be. Nobody could write fiction with such raw detail and well structured prose. Only someone recounting genuine experiences could so perfectly capture the subtleties at play within this beautiful and haunting narrative.
