I shoot radiation at dogs and I say stupid shit on the internet.
Currently using symfonium, does everything I need at least. Can’t speak for plex since it been years but it has most of the things you need, offline playback, playlist downloading and syncing, casting, supports transcoding etc. Plus it works with plex already so you can try it out (it’s free for a week then paid iirc but it’s well worth imho)
Hey now people who “have no issues” with queer ppl also “have no issues” when we have our books in the library
I will say this thread had way more discussion then I was expecting when I originally posted this. My point about the screenshot still stands, I would much prefer we discuss something new related to sharing media, instead of recycling the same discussion about why its justified to copyright infringe.
I also wonder if it’s in part how much exposure to the internet zoomers have. As well as what kind of internet. I was (for better or worse) terminally online growing but I had a Mac, and never had a smartphone till later. All my experience of the internet was my old Mac and later windows laptop. I also got into emulating and modding consoles by my early teens so that probably changes a lot as well.
I often wonder if this is some sort of lack of self worth thing. Like, people don’t see their data as important because they don’t see themselves as important in the grand scheme of things? Do they thing one person isn’t gonna change anything?
I get algorithms and shit are designed to be addicted and keep you coming back, but is there a deeper part to this?
Or am I just the crazy one? Does all of this not matter? I mean, I know it doesn’t, in the grand scheme nothing matters. But at this time in space does it matter? My friends enjoy TikTok and Facebook and Twitter and whatever else they use. I do end up being the crazed loser? Is the pool full of piss and I’m in water? Or is it a lemonade pool and I’m full of Powerade piss
Pretty much all of history has shown times of peace and comfort lead to stagnation. Which unfortunately means that violence to some extent has always been part of the answer
