I think it would be great if we have numbers that are increasing slow and steadily, giving this whole ecosystem time to work out the kinks. While I dream of one day everyone being a part of the fediverse, I’m getting a good count and quality of discussions right now.

Well, not really the same thing but I saw this the other day. I think it is awesome, but that is probably only nostalgia talking. It is a geocities website for the current day!

Insurance companies are a joke. I hate it here. I worked at a certain restaurant for years who make an entire thing out of getting donations for St. Judes a few weeks a year. What are we donating for if people still get bills like this?

I think you explained it a bit more eloquently than me. This exactly.

I had a mindset that I had nothing of value to contribute to the conversation. On here, I type out what I would have at Reddit, but I was just wrong. I get plenty of people who engage with me.

I’m not sure how I feel about you saying we are the Borg of the situation…

Coming up with a domain name that I am happy with is an impossible task. I usually accept one I find “good enough” otherwise I end up in your situation three days later. I completely understand your frustration!

I understand why people keep piling on Beehaw, but it feels to me like the people who make comments like this really don’t understand why they did it. I’m not speaking about the current lack of mod tools, but creating a space like Beehaw invites trolling.

I’m not a member of that server, but completely agree with what they’re out to do.

I’ve tried this once or twice but always end up not using it because I don’t trust myself to keep a server up.

Would you consider hosting your own Nextcloud through a provider like Hetzner a nice intermediary step?
