For what it’s worth, Cymru is ‘Wales’ in Welsh. Ah, okay, wasn’t entirely sure what the situation was with the other two. I’ll keep contributing in the new community anyhow, hopefully we’ll build another flourishing community.

As the title states, I intend for this Community to be a place for those either living in Wales or Interested in Wales, news about Wales & Welsh politics. [[email protected]](https://lemm.ee/c/wales) | https://lemm.ee/c/wales Thanks for reading, hope to see some of you there!

It’s plausible that it’s talking about electrical energy (Escalator, Lift etc) rather than physical. Though yeah I get where you’re coming from, would bother me also.

MFW things that should be basic fucking human rights are now considered ‘Comfort Breaks’

I think it just hides the banners and popups, not accepting or declining. I’m not 100% though.

The annoyances filters in uBlock Origin take care of these, I believe there are a few filters specifically for this exact issue, named appropriately.

This looks like Spez&co are attempting to implement a way for users (Probably Corporations, Influencers & Celebrities, let’s be honest) to monetise their audience on Reddit. Frankly it goes against everything Reddit was supposed to be, but unfortunately they’ve made it very clear they don’t exactly give a shit about the end-user any more, so I’m not at all surprised.

I worry that something like this would rapidly become the equivalent of paying for a hundred different shitty TV channels from cable TV so that you could get the few good ones you were actually interested in.

If I recall, they’ve just finished up a round of seed funding. I’ve heard precious little about the project itself, though. You may be on to something.

Google+ was so weird, for a considerable amount of time it was invite only, you needed some form of connection to get in – turns out this wasn’t great as they assumed it would be. I can only assume that is the reason they pulled a massive U-turn and decided to foist it upon anyone and everyone after the fact, which, it would appear, was also a bad idea.

Honestly, I’m unsure about the discrepancy, unfortunately.

If by websites you mean instances, then currently close to 1250. Here is a list of them for you.

Likely an outdated one, or one that’s already been given a number of times, but – Physical Books.

I’m not entirely ‘anti’ e-reader, the benefits are obvious. I’m just VERY pro physical book.

I think, as others in here have already mentioned – There needs to be either inclusion of Federated services on current search engines, or a new search engine that natively incorporates the Fediverse. Though the issue with the second option there is it basically moves the goal posts a little rather than aims to tackle the core issue.
