Lemmy.ml better start making a plan
Scientific themed communities. Excellent.
They create giant databases of every breached password in rainbow tables from previously breached password hashes, and then try them all if they ever expose another breach. If they get a database in a breach they can try a lot, like trillions, very fast.
Re-using passwords makes things much easier for them.
Bots attempt passwords on sites’ login forms all the time but aren’t very effective. Usually have hundreds a day even when I had a wedding site not even listed on google. Probably only works for very short and frequently used passwords.
The dev is about to release a new ‘slider’ for when you slide to reply because it had issues.
The lack of communities is apparently a lemmy issue despite working in wefwef. Dev looked into it apparently. Something about the api they are using. Only affecting certain instances.
They’re developing very fast hence the bugs. They do fix quickly too though. Im trying to submit as many bugs to them on GitHub as possible.
Each instance has to have at least one subscriber to the second instance for it to start syncing.
If there are no subscribers, put the url of the second instance in the search on the web interface for the first instance, subscribe, and you’ll be the first person to get it syncing
Also could be bugs. :p
Yep you can download a native app that has a bit more features than the web app.
