So I’m not a Barilla diehard, not even close, but there are definitely worse cheap pastas, not necessarily all of them but some are. If someone’s in doubt just check the ingredient list on the packages.

Ummm yeah cooking complex dishes it makes things pretty easy when you set a timer for things that don’t need your attention constantly.

Also helps me not to burn a pizza in the oven.

Yeah let’s get to that million first before splitting everyone. It’s really not helpful in the current state.

And there are actually options besides “this is how it currently works so it’s good”. Like some kind of federated communities/magazines where when you post to one it’s posted to all of them. And I’m not saying it would be technically easy to implement, I have no idea, but I’m saying there are always room for improvement.

Near-identical communities/magazines with the same exact goal isn’t practical.

I think everyone in the ActivityPub hopes Mastodon is the next Twitter but other than that, it’s a tie between the all three. I think Bluesky has the best chance since it has the cleanest plate but it’ll absolute turn into a shit hole like the rest.

Cohost would be cool.

I just browse the front page so it’s all a blur to me. But I have noticed Lemmy’s shitposting sub being quite active (because it annoys me).

Has Lemmy passed kbin? Last I heard they were growing pretty evenly if you compare the biggest individual instances at least. Maybe creating your own instances is simpler with Lemmy?

Yeah, I meant that you can use your Mastodon account on Pixelfed.

Has this been cooking a while or Insta/Threads inspired move?

Either way, cool.

If your problem is with getting beaten in the streets you could just wait for it to arrive on the streaming platforms. That’s anyway when the good quality torrents come out. And if for some reason the movies aren’t released in your region, you could always access them through VPN or there are also other solutions.

I don’t really buy the demo effect in this day and age when there’s let’s plays of every game and they’re more accessable than torrenting a game. I’ll admit that some percentage will buy games/movies/media after torrenting so there can be a slight positive effect when it comes to sales. But at the end of the day, people just want to consume everything for free.

I’m not arguing for lost profits, I don’t really care except for the writers and other creatives should get paid. But pirates should just admit that they want shit for free, this holier-than-thou act is annoying and crumbles at the first step. Before arguing for the ethicality maybe come up with a solution or at least disapprove the new media piracy. Because that’s a huge, huge side-effect. More like the effect and media preservation is tacked on positive side effect.

Except piracy peaks at the recent releases. That isn’t about media preservation, it’s about seeing the new shit for free.

For some hard to impossible find stuff it can be useful but that’s not what it’s mostly used for.

There’s also users that potentially could join other instances but because of some exclusive feature Threads has, they choose it. So basically rest of the instances are bleeding users to Threads.

I apparently have always used Twitter wrong since I mostly just lurk and people I follow don’t get into flamewars or whatever they’re called. It’s kinda unrecognizable for me how you describe Twitter.

Mastodon on the other hand is just pretty dead for me. I haven’t found that much interesting stuff and I don’t really know where to look.

From my perspective, they function pretty similarly. I don’t see the toxicity you’re talking about. Quote tweeting is handy because it’s not used to put down others but just, you know, sharing and adding something to the original tweet.
