Is sappho.social a brand new instance too?

I don’t know how it is with Memmy, but in-browser I always need to open a new community twice. The first time it gives an error but it starts fetching, the second time it works.

Really love that this is a thing. Also, not sure where to best report this, but I’ve noticed that it doesn’t show all Mastodon comments, and replies to Lemmy comments don’t make it over to Mastodon

You need to create the community from a lemmy.film account but then you can make your main a mod. They could’ve made it easier

Well I am an American and I support American values, so as far as I’m concerned it’s wrong and illegal.
Also isn’t lemmy.world in America? Pretty sure it is since they did remove two of their communites for this very reason:

This is the dumbest detail for me to get hung up on, but lemmy.world is hosted in Finland on servers rented from a German company by a Dutch admin.

Pro tip: make accounts on different instances, so you don’t need to log in and out but just type in a different url

Which I’d say is a pretty right-wing sentiment

I don’t think it’s either, the joke is just that they combined Plato’s cave with a meme template (see the “They don’t know” section)

“not too much” is carrying some weight here, because there’s more to food than just calories, like sodium and cholesterol.

Take a look: https://youtu.be/s7tWHJfhiyo

Isn’t that specifically about First Past the Post? (which is mainly only used in places that were once British)

The only good part of Ryanair, lol

The neat thing about Lemmy is that you can just check the mod logs: https://lemmy.world/modlog?page=1&userId=345529
Apparently they got a 7-day ban for breaking lemmy.ml’s ‘No bigotry’ rule

Your instance could (edit: theoretically, if they’re running custom Lemmy code) track you by your browser fingerprint (screen size, installed fonts, plugins, etc.). Others could keep a profile on you based on what you comment/post/upvote and when.
