People that don’t see any problem with communism? Where the first and obvious problem is that it’s inherently (and ironically) a fascist system…

Your first and second point combined basically means that everybody has to live in some government designed and funded flat. If you don’t like that, there’s nothing to be done. Same with food and everything. Oh you don’t like the government mandated 1500kcal protein slurry per day? Sucks to be you then… Of course it doesn’t have to be bad, but you are enabling a system where it could be bad and nobody could do anything about it.

How else would it work? You need some power structure that actively forbids a free market and private ownership. And that power will sooner or later be abused.

You can’t just imagine some utopia where nobody has to work, and everything is free, and call that communism.

I know you’re joking, but actually most ISOs I have are actually operating systems or games. I’ve never seen a normal movie release as an ISO, except maybe 1:1 copies of retail disks.

Yeah, it always stresses me out when I see people saying that synchthing is a backup solution… (not that OP did here)

It only lasts a while until it’s back like this.

My comment seems to be written unclearly, or I misunderstood the parent comment… Anyway I’m against communism.

I suspect the issue is with the SSL Certificates…

For starters, do you already have a domain? If yes, which nameserver are you using?

Also more importantly, what problem do you actually have?

Probably most people, that had to live in poverty, through wars, and without advanced medicine and other tech?

The main issue is not the website itself, but opening your network to be reachable from the internet in a safe way.

I assume people buy Vinyls of their favourite artists as a kind of poster (which also physically contains the music)… not to actually listen to it.

Do Americans actually do this? Like don’t you have tissues? And isn’t it gross? Or is this some weird circumcision thing again?

Can you guys please fuck off with this communism bullshit?

It’s the entry drug to communism, and then eventually to tankyism…

If one instance gets too big they could just ignore the standard and start adding random tweaks to it. And all the others would eventually have to adapt to that or risk becoming irrelevant by being incompatible with the big instance.

Meanwhile in the EU: sleep

You can go into the view history and remove all the bad videos.

My mom has a similar problem with animal videos. She likes watching farm videos where sometimes there’s animals giving birth… And those videos completely ruin the algorithm. After that she only gets animals having sex, and the animal fighting and killing eachother.

Why are people downvoting? Is there something wrong with Mullvad? As far as I was aware, it was one of the good one out there…

The loss of potential growth opportunity… And all the potential negative effects happen anyway, no matter if you federate or not.

Both those things literally happen with 100% certainty and instantly when you defederate…

Meta is not going to go away or fail somehow just because everyone defederates from them!

What good does that do the small instances? And how does that harm Meta?

All that happens is:

  • The small instances won’t get the extra activity that Meta users might bring
  • Meta will not get the small amount of existing content on those small instances

That’s more a loss for us.

I really don’t understand this logic… There is literally absolute no advantage by not federating with Meta.

Why would users prefer the free Fediverse MORE if it’s not federated with the “big and good” Metaverse? If anything it just drives them away into Metas arms, because the non-Meta instances are small and all the stuff is on Meta anyway.

Defederating is just the worst case result, but instantly from the beginning… How does that do any good???

connect it to a 5 TB hard disk (initially) and dump all my data into it

Don’t forget about backups! That 5TB drive can die at any random moment.

Falls jemand den Artikel nicht unbedingt lesen will: “Mykoplasmen sind einer der häufigsten bakteriellen Erreger von Lungenentzündungen bei Kindern.”

Yes, that’s what I meant. Reddit lost all the power users, which were just a small percentage of all users. So in numbers it doesn’t look too bad for reddit, but it actually is bad because they lost the good users which actually provide content.

You probably can’t judge the loss in user count anyway. 99% of the users never actively contribute anything, not even upvotes or so.

The pirate IPTV Services people mention are all paid.

And are you looking for some specific US Channel, oder do you just want some background noise in English?
