It’s generally smaller communities on instances, not whole instances. I doubt Ernest has a vendetta against the splatoon community on lemmy.world
When it takes over a week in some cases, that’s making federation completely useless. Things are broken and no one in charge is addressing why. It’s just irrelevant info or random guesses from people that dont know, and then discussion drops until it starts it all over again and everyone goes through the same non answers again.
Where is this post in the federation network? Where did it fall through in being connected to kbin? Did it not get sent out to the fediverse? Is it stuck in a server queue somewhere? Is there some aspect of the post data format that kbin couldnt handle?
Corporation owns reddit, owns twitter, owns meta, owns twitch and youtube.
Corporation cant own fediverse. Corporate interests could take over lemmy.world, or any other instance, but that doesnt give them the fediverse. They can block outside users from coming in, they can block inside users from going out, but they cant block outside users from eachother
Im concerned about how many folks tryin to push extremely broad rules onto the whole fediverse. Like, any kind of automated posting? Or heck, any kind of inactive account apparently. Make whatever rules you want for your own instance or community. If I want a bot that posts whenever the creator of whatever fandom community Im in posts some news somewhere, don’t make rules for my community.
sure, you can see all the most popular posts and communities. But say you wanted to check out a smaller community, say, the splatoon one here on lemmy.world. You wont see all of the posts there from kbin. How about animemes from lemmy.ml? The latest post you can see from kbin is a week old, yet it’s getting posts everyday. Personally I wanna see some posts from rule34 on lemmynsfw, but again no.
And this is a problem not unique to kbin, I have not found any entrance to the fediverse that doesnt have this problem.
Im a bit confused. What’s self hosted here? I download a game onto my computer from Steam, now Im self hosting it for myself. Is it someone else that’s hosting the games for download and selling them? Might be cool to pay and download games directly from a developer, if that’s at all possible from this, but thats not mentioned anywhere.
Is it just file sharing? Is that what this is?
Paying protection money and doing free work so that you dont get punished for crimes you arent committing, legal words cannot describe how much i hate you and the system youre endorsing.
